I'm sitting in a Pacific Coffee Company cafe in the Shun Tak centre, Hong Kong Island, writing my vision and purpose for setting up an "Evolving & Growing" community. I've written a draft vision...
Vision:
• Creating a momentum of group and individual work, on an international stage, that keeps people engaged with their personal growth (and my business, generating an income).
• Creating that feeling that people want to be with you, are interested in your wellbeing and enjoy learning from our similarities and differences. Creating this feeling for everyone involved.
• To provide multiple opportunities that allow for diversity of needs, and flexibility around time and commitment.
• Develop a vision that is genuine and naturally enticing so that this gathers a momentum and life of its own. So that an international community develops.
Elements:
- transparency
- participants contributing to help this grow
- lots of feedback & witnessing for participation
- clear processes
- modelling of values and success
- ways for the community and individuals to grow with each other, independent of me
• Using simple and progressive internet technology that allows for groups of people to connect via video or audio connection with application sharing for pictures, diagrams, etc.
• Added value features that don’t cost much time & money to deliver and use the momentum of people’s needs. Plus some that can sell other income earning sessions / groups (e.g. FREE Sat morning de-cluttering session ; EFT session on a specific topic and beliefs around this)
• Sessions that go into new territories of understanding for the facilitator as well as the clients. e.g. Voicing the unspoken (facilitator & prompting the client) & what needs to be said, feelings held back, dreams / inspiration, new topics, taking risks
• Systems in place, including personal and group facilitation models for two reasons:
o Increase participants awareness of personal and group process
o Develop a facilitation training and assessment process
• A facilitator’s level, so participants can earn an income as a facilitator and take free sessions
• A culture that is developed with participants and is up for discussion and review
• Attractive approach (e.g. clear website, testimonies, word of mouth, confidentiality, integrity...) that encourage customers to join the process
• Using methodologies that have integrity and preserve ethics, self-responsibility and agency. Have a written code of ethics for community and refer to the NZPsS code of ethics as being my one.
My Purpose:
• To create a community
• To get a momentum happening
• To honour relationships and personal growth
• To start in a basic way and gradually scale up
My Personal Endeavor: This process is to create a job for me that make real the best of what I know. At the moment I don't know how else to do this living in Hong Kong. I am also researching job positions in parallel with this process. And maybe I wil find employment that will allow me to grow and create to my fullest potential. So far I haven't had any leads in this way. So in the meantime I'll start creating here :-)
